Waikato's First Agrivoltaics Project Launched by Kiwi Solar and Trilect
Trilect has partnered with Kiwi Solar to launch Waikato's first-ever solar farm!
This innovative initiative combines solar energy generation with agricultural practices, marking a significant step forward for renewable energy in New Zealand.
Spanning 6.5 hectares, the solar farm features 5,740 cutting-edge solar panels. The installation will generate approximately 6,000 MWh of clean energy annually—enough to power around 800 homes.
In addition to producing clean energy, the project adopts a dual-purpose land-use model, allowing sheep grazing beneath the photovoltaic panels.
